The wind kicked in a little after 1 with gusts reaching 20 mph by 2. I got on the water about 2:30 just as the wind was backing off a bit. It soon filled back in, however, making for a pleasant sail up to Rainbow Bay (not much bay left at this water level) and an exhilarating ride back. Also enjoying the beautiful DC afternoon were Carl, Kaerli (hope I got that right?) their sons, and lots of kite boarders.
