Friday morning I slept in, in anticipation to what was coming at around noon... But Tom W. caught the most filled frontal enhanced thermal Fayette wind in the morning on his 5.9... It was a bit chilly in the morning but warmed up quickly...
Layne P., Duane (Milosport), and Tim came down... We had some wild rides and some sweet rides... All in all, I felt like I had two days of Gorge like endurance sailing... Not Gorge like swell! Of course! I was on the 4.7 and 78L most of the day (except for the speed runs I did in the beginning on the 6.2M/115L...That's relative of course, being that my "fast" gear is still relatively slow... Carl and Dimitri, bring your "Fast" gear down next time and I'll give you the GPS... I've decided when I'm maxing out my speed, especially when cutting down wind, I unhook
No launching into the booms... It's the flat water that draws me, when it's side-off shore or off-shore)...
After that I debated between rigging my 3.7 at one point but decided to stay on the 4.7... Most were on 4.2 to 4.5... I conclude that this frontal wind was a bit holier than usual, but still was an absolute blast... We did run after run from West beach up to the South end which is 2.3 miles on google earth... The southwest was MUCH stronger and consistent when in line with the wind coming over the dam...
The place is just a grab bag, you take what you can get and in my opinion it's a very fun place to sail amidst all that... I love hearing different perspectives on the same day same place, what'd you guy's think?
