Utah Lake Mon and Tues

Hey, all you Utah Lake Kiters. Looks like Ut. Lake is the call for pm rides on Mon and Tues. Where is the best place to launch now that the water is up. I see posts from Provo Marina, Where do you launch. How about SSB?
May havae to leave senic Rush Lake and kite with youall. Where's the best action to be had?

provo marina is sweet but not for beginners smooth water.. need booties because of a few thorns but all in all very sweet...ssb might be all gone?

There's not much left...there is a strip big enough to drive up and park and launch a kite then you've got to walk out and head for deeper points North. I estimate the water is about 100Yards closer than the beginning of the season last year. I think it's still rideable though. If the wind hits 20mph it maybe no good as the wind pushes the water up, I think it'll cover the existing beach.

I rode out of Lindon on Sat. night. The beach is basically one big fire pit/garbage dump, but there is enough room to rig and launch a couple of kites. That was my first time there so I don't know much about the place. Wind is probably lighter on a north than it is at Provo or SSB. It does save me an hour drive to SSB and fifteen minutes or so to Provo. I am coming from Salt Lake.
While I'm at this, has anyone ever riden from say Lindon to SSB? Since I am basically still riding downwind, thought it might be fun to do. Maybe even get some boat or jet ski support for the ride. What do you think?

I think Ryan did a downwinder from Lindon to SSB last year or the year before. I think it went well but it's quite a long haul and it's a good idea for the waverunner support on the way down and maybe even for a ride back. Good luck...

Lindon beach is indeed a garbage dump, althouth SSB is not much better. Be careful, because a lot of that garbage is now underwater. It used to not be quite so bad, but over the last few years of exposed beach, it has become quite popular to have bonfires with whatever palette, couch, chair, television, etc. There was actually the shell of a TV that we pulled out of the water Saturday. The south part of the area may contain less garbage - that is where I will try to launch - if I can get there in good wind.
