good day indeed. we showed up about 11:00 to almost no wind and the naysayers were rigigng large. i threw up my 12 answer and within a half hour was fully powered. it was interesting learning how that kite works. not quite as much depower as the waroo, but still a good amount. the kite is so fast though! it turns like a 9 and i was struggling learning how to jump with it. it boosts! i was having problems keeping the kite steady while i was jumping becuase it's so fast. when it's powered, its powered! it rides like a c kite with lots of grunt. very intersting to try new kites. i think i'll enjoy it on the water once i get the rear line tension figured out.
but, yes about 10 people or so. i brought my buddy who tried a speed flight down boscos with 20 mph headwind. he just kind of hovered there for a while. but, it was a good learning day for him. he rigged, rode and came home all by his lonesome which when you are learning wind sports is a big bonus. kevin deenan (i think) from minnesota that i think was here in the summer was here with his family. those were the kids airing the cat on boscos. i also had an alex peterson sighting but didn't really see him ride.
all in all a good day. i wish we had better snow though. it was awefully rutty down in the flats and crusty up top. i'm glad mark finally got his lines figured out. he was worring me with a downed kite up on boscos.
any word on the weather station up there? i'd like to know more about the local weather so i hit it with better snow....
