June 5th - RUSH

Postby stevemayer » Tue Jun 05, 2007 9:20 pm

When they say "windy from the south" get to rush early! I was on the sludge by 6:30 expecting a short session before the real wind kicked in, by 1 pm, i couldn't move (still can't). I think we all had our best day ever in Utah (I have been at it out here for 8 ish years kiting rush).

Can't believe the airs we had.. will try to fugure out how to post the photo's we took. Chris (aka earless) took shot of Stokes and I riding the one channel out of the reeds. Got some epic photo's of Stokes. We also got Chris like 563 feet in the air, well maybe a bit less, but looked that big..

Don't foreget Rush early is the call on STRONG south predictions...

oh, i was first on 13 Ozone instince, then 10 buloroo, then 7 Warro, then for shits and grins, went out again on the 10.. called airport 2 right when came in, 25 gusing to 32... yea haaaaa, who needs the gorge...

Rush June 5th

Postby whit » Tue Jun 05, 2007 10:25 pm

What a great day at Rush!!!! Most of the time you didn't even know it was 10" deep unless you missed a jibe or a landing.

Great to see some of the long time kiters out, and new ones.....Mike Rossberg, Steve Mayer, Stokes, Chris, Billy, Nathan?, etc. etc.

I arrived at 10AM, put up my 9M Waroo, kited until noon. Stokes was launching huge air every 2 minutes until his kite blew away. It was some of the highest jumping ever at Rush for everyone, as Steve said, best in 8 years? Hope to see the photos posted soon. Just do a link like Birkbeck and/ or Jason did for the pics......picasaweb.google.com or........www.slide.com.

Rush was Plush in the Mush!!! Where was John Mzee? and Marty? I guess Kenny made an early appearance. Everyone was very wise and off the water by 1:30 PM. Whit Guild

I'm done with the shallows of Rush, this year.

A bunch of us were at Willard, for clean, deep water, with swell.

Didn't know you were in town, I would have text you where we were going.

Fast day!! 43.5 mph

Postby mike rossberg » Wed Jun 06, 2007 8:32 am

The shallows were fast. I rode from 9:00 to 12:30 on 9m Waroo and 10 Bularoo. I was able clock 43.5 mph on my GPS. I was a Kenny's 9M Waroo and 136 Gaastra board. I'm addicted to speed runs now. Nothing like going 40 in 4 inches of water. I found nice lane of water way upwind where butter island used to be. I will have to figure out how post this on motionbase in the next few days.

After all the fun at Rush. I came home loaded up with my windsurfing gear and headed to MM19 at Utah lake. Rigged 3 sails and finally rode my 5.0 for a while. Very up and down but worth the drive.

Mike- Good job. Appears my run has been bested. I hope we can get another day out there to push the speed mark even higher. Download the data to motionbased.com so we can see your stats.

Mike,

Motionbased is very user friendly... However, the interface is what most people have problems with... Cable... If you have the cable to connect to your computer, Motionbased Agent will walk you through the rest...

Jason, I'm going to be breaking 40MPH on your skinny board this summer... :) Speed runs are fun! thanks again...
