Gorge Lack of Weather Reports

Postby kenonstott » Tue Jun 12, 2007 10:29 am

No Bart, no Northwest Weather (McLean), no Windance Weather, iWindsurf trying to get out of the beeper business. For those of us without the equipment to access iWindsurf, things are looking pretty bleak this summer. Are there any cheap ways to go.

Ken... There are several telephone recorded lines (I just checked and they are still issuing reports): 1)Windance 541-386-8706 2)K105 (Eric M.) 541-386-1336 x3. As I recall they don't record the Windance info until mid to late morning and I'm not sure how early in the morning Eric M. records his forecast. From past experience I recall some frustration with not having the recorded info earlier. I know that's not exactly what you're looking for, hopefully we can find additional info...

Ken

Iwindsurf will give you a free one month membership. sign up right before you go. Then you can check out the weather reports from a laptop or a cell phone.
Your phone would most likely work on it.

Be sure to set up wind alerts as well so you know what, when, where is going off.

every cell phone has its one email address. So the text wind alerts can be sent straight to your phone.
example:

8018599897@tmomail.net

Try it out.

iwindsurf acct

I think the free acct. is only 10 days? Unless there is some special that they are doing. But that's what it was last year. So if you are there longer than the 10 days.....others have been known to open an account for their dog to use, for 10 more days. that seems to cover most Utahn's trip. Just a thought.
