Provo Airport Mesowest

Postby mike loeser » Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:26 pm

I know that the wind is horrible as of late, but I know things will pick up soon. Is there anyone we can get in touch with to fix the Provo airport wind meter? It has been down for about a month now. Even the phone number doesn't work! I would hate to miss a session because of it and due to the south winds we've been having the Bluffdale meter doesn't always show if the winds are good at SSB.
I am more than happy to raise a ruckus if needed.
By the way, Burmester is still giving rides on a south for all those DK's! (desperate kiters)

This looks like it's working fine to me...of course, I'm not up in Provo right now...is it way off?

The hotline uses mesowest observations, so just call it...don't bother with the FAA number.

Let me suggest this "surface map" also. It can be pretty handy for UL

If you look at the number of times the wind is reported you'll notice that somethings wrong. It used to report the wind speed every fifteen minutes. Now it will go an hour or so without updating and then every fifteen minutes it updates. Take a look at the history. It seems like that the most important times ie. 4-6 pm are never reported.
Thanks again for the hotline. I call it every time I have a chance to ride.
