Labor Day Weekend???

Postby jason morton » Thu Aug 30, 2007 2:35 pm

Where to go? Gorge?
Sherman?
Mojave?
Yuba?
Any thoughts? Anyone?
How about a DKT?

Mojave looks light and variable, just heat with light wind. Wouldn't go that way.

Big Sandy in WYO has blown the last four weekends... but forecast is not promising for a fifth...at least the windrivers are close by.

Boise may be happening, they've had a good season with early morning rides at Lucky Peak res... similar to the G-ville effect, but a larger lake and steadier winds.

Sherman has algae apparently, but that shouldn't affect Utah riders that have drank their share of Rush.

Maybe the Gorge? Or the coastest with the mostest?

The forecast looks good for American Falls on Sat looks good. 3 hour drive. Sometimes Sulphur goes off even when the forecast is not promising. Les has been getting it at Pineview.

The family and I are heading to bear lake, not necessarily planning on wind, but hoping. If anyone goes there, lets phone tag the wind reports.

Hmmm... American Falls may be the call eh? Just spoke with a Jacksonite that said he wasn't happy with the Big Sandy prediction - 30% showers with wind fluctuating 7-15mph.... could be gusty could be good, but not good enough for the locals to go. He also said check back tomorrow, the damn weather changes every day.

And YES!! the video is real, it is crazy, but we all knew that Ozones were mad freaking kite loopers... at least when you loop the 5 meter in strong Wyoming wind! What do you expect?

It was a first timer, but he is a pro skier from J-hole, so I think he landed OK.

The NOAA forecast for American Falls doesn't look as good for Saturday. It is showing decent wind on Sunday, but not Saturday.

It looks like the high pressure ridge is affecting a large area.

So where are you going Jason? I've been listening to Ozzy singing the lightwind blues and I'm hopping on the Crazy Train.

Brian- I don't know but I'm dying for a session. I'm desperate enough to drive all night for even a marginal session. What are your plans? Let's go!

I've an odd hunch it may push at Lincoln/SSB... its 10 from the North on the north end of the lake, and its only 3pm now.

Ya, no kidding. Sure looks like something is headed that way. Bluffdale at 11mph and solid north in SLC. I just might have to check it out. If PVU hits 9 or so soon I'm gone.
