Home Depot

Went out to see how Home Depot is and couldn't believe how the fence is getting destroyed. It's hard to imagine how many disrepectfull snowkiters there are. It's not that hard to roll over the top of the gate on your stomach and not even touch the wire. I'm only 5'3" and I make it just fine. We had Radioactive Flats closed to us two years ago. Let's not loose one of the most consistent and accessible spots we have. Don't be lame and don't be lazy, if you are athletic enough to kiteboard, you're athletic enough to roll the gate. The board in the gate is only destroying it even more.

mike great topic. i have talked to several kiters in the pc area about that same fence, which i noticed was fixed this summer. it was destroyed last winter. we will loose this spot. we need to find out who the owner is and offer to fix, which worries me because then they will close. i can build stairs that cross fences, ranchers use them. i am worried that we need to ask permission now to fix or maintain there fence.
anybody got any other ideas???

tj,

My opinion would be to go ahead and set up stairs on each side of the fence. I have watched that fence get destroyed over the last 3 winters.

I say, just do it. Do not contact anybody because then they might say no. Make it temporary and apart from the fence or easily removable. And as small as possible. When the snow melts in the spring, we can remove it and he has his field back for the summer with no damage to his wire fence. Whit

I can do it untill after the new year because of work.

Gate

I think it inportant we stress ussing the gate section to climb over.

I'm not sure Kiteres are to blame for the current damage, as I think Sal and I are the only ones who have kited there and we used the gate.
