Where to Ride 7/13

Postby Craig Goudie » Wed Jul 13, 2005 8:47 am

Rides are possible at Sulfur this PM, expect 7.5 -8.5 or 18 M conditions
up there for a couple of hours. As always, it'll be a little gusty up there.
A light thermal at Rush might get the 20-30 M crowd planing around 4 PM.

Tomorrow looks like there's some potential for SSB for Kite or Windsurf
rides (wish I knew more about the afternoon drainage there, any
of you with experience have a clue what starts that and when?)

The weekend is looking promising for big gear planers also,

Craig,
I might be wrong but on super hot days we get that thermal from the great salt lake and as the hot ground is pulling the air threw the valley it speeds up and as the wind goes across utah lake it smooooooooooooths it out. SSB is perfect because the land is pulling the air so it speeds up. The super nice thing is that's a evining thing so if you work days like most of us do you can still get a sweet sess. the thermal kicks in around 5 and goes till after dark.. FYI you need a large kite the wind most of the time is 10-13 mph. We have 7-25m kites in stock come check us out...
