Where to Ride 3/28

Postby Craig Goudie » Fri Mar 28, 2008 8:26 am

Enough South wind in the late afternoon to provide planable windsurfing at Mona. Look
for 7.5 conditions under cloudy 55 degree skies starting aound 3 PM. Probably a chance at similar,
but gustier winds at DC. This looks like one of those high frustration Rush Kite boarder days to
me. Probably be some South rides PM, but plenty of Kite dropping lulls also.

Tomorrow, PM clearing with brutally cold North planable winds at UL and Rush.

First of all, WELCOME BACK! We've missed you!!

It was, indeed, quite windy in the Heber Valley this afternoon. Unfortunately, most of DC is covered by ice that is now too thin to kite on. There is open water from the far side of the Island on North, but because the water level in the lake is still quite low (they've still got work to do on the dam apparently) getting to the water's edge would involve a very long slog across the mud flats and would probably end up being an EMA. The ice will probably be gone in a few days, but for now, Mona sounds like a much better bet.
