Since strawbs has been blowing since 11am yesterday. Oh and it was soooooo good yesterday(and the day before). And since its blowing 30 in the Hebe.since 2am and forcasted to blow intill dark tonight!!!!! I am up chomping at the bit. I wish I could get some one to sunrise session with me. But since its a weekend and most folk will probably sleep in. Anyhow since the agua temps should be around the same as the snow temps (COLD) it should be another epic April day at strawbs. 45 degrees sunny blue bird and some nice silky corn snow for all my friends. Oh did I forget to mention smooth 20 wind.

Yea Mon! Billy, glad to see your post. I met you a week ago or so when you were giving your friend a lesson at Coop. (I'm the guy from NJ). I have been up here at Jackson for the past week trying to kite. Have not had one good session all week. Been skunked and blown off but nothing in between. I need to ride! Woke up early to try and get down to skyline for the party but not sure we can get loaded and make it there today, with juice left over to ride. May just head to Strawberry instead and hit Skyline tomorrow if they are still at it down there. Hope to see you later!

Well, the above was what I was going to send you until I saw your last post..... Now, not so sure about our plan. Will look at the forecast for Sunday and make our decision...

Wondering if that forecast is a mistake. Mostly Sunny, wind 6 to 9 with gusts to 60??? Is that a normal weather pattern for SLC? Wondering what to do since its a 6 hour drive and that forecast goes through Sunday night and maybe into Monday.

I saw that forecast also, and it is very strange. Pressure above 30.0, no clouds,
little jet stream coupling (and a North/South Jetstream flow), I can't see where
a 65 MPH gust could come from, but, you will definitely want to weigh
your life against a days worth of rides. One of the rare times when a
"Pole Board" on the water is just a safer bet.

Went to strawbs at first light and sat and watched it for a bit only saw gust up to 25 so Tommy rigged his 12 manta( with every intention to kite down if need be.) I my 11 instinct and Christy a 7 waroo we all rode powered for hour intill around 12:45 no sighns of the poltergust . Snow was silly fast and hard intill the sun started to soften it up a bit. Hope anyone else who goes and gets it is safe.

Craig, I too was puzzled by the forecast not a cloud in the sky. Nothing scary up high???

Still a great day of kiting. Your right though the pole board is the safe Bet since you can seperate from it so easily. Today we all checked our safteys before we went out and every one was ready to let their kites go if need be.....
