utah lake 15m adi. ripping

Postby Tyler_Lyon » Wed Feb 06, 2013 5:46 pm

Rode north end of utah lake today and it was ripping the wind was still blowing when I left. Rode 15m adi on 4 inches of corn and loved every minute. Only came in because the dog was cold wind readings from pioneer were probably right on

Nice work Tyler! I have never ridden at Utah Lake, how often do you find good wind there during the winter? Do you always recommend the North end? How thick is the ice?

Thanks!

The wind at utah lake in the winter is very very fickle when it should blow it does not and like yesterday when there should have been no wind at all it went off. I ride the north end of the lake for 4 reasons.
1. I live less then a mile away.
2. Seems to have wind earlier in the day then the rest of lake( more time to ride)
3. The wind meter at pioneer crossing seems to be very acurate for what i will be riding when I go( also get the option to step out the back door and feel the wind....)
4. The lake is shallower at the north end so if there is a problem i can still touch the bottom.

The ice where i ride is rock solid right now but there are open water areas near the shore where fresh water springs flow into the lake. ice is between 6 and 9 inches right now.

If at any time the community wants to help $$ I will mount a meter on the house and link it to a live feed??? Just a thought.
